ABOUT ANNE BAIRD.

Anne BairdAnne Baird is a self-taught artist who's been painting and writing since childhood. Her chosen media for her unique line of greeting cards is watercolor, ink and colored pencil.

As an adult, she spent 8 years as a teacher and school administrator while raising her family. She's the author of 11 successful published children's books (William Morrow and Simon & Schuster), and is a freelance artist and journalist who has worked for three small newspapers and for private clients. She's a regular contributor of illustrated pieces to several online "ezines."

Her GODDESS CARD line grew from a birthday card she created for her daughter, Amanda, who was a curvy beauty in the Land of Thin. (Los Angeles.) That seminal card declaring You're a GODDESS, not a nymph! slowly evolved into a long line of over 150 affirmations for ALL women.

Last year, Goddess Cards birthed a sister website, , egoddesscards.com, using its paper inventory of images and stories as its beginning virtual inventory. The new website is now growing faster than the parent company, and sells memberships across North America and into Europe.

Anne and Goddess Cards have been honored by the distinguished Renfrew Center of California, for promoting healthy body images for women. Her work has been praised in a review in the distinguished New Age Retailer magazine. She was awarded Best Home Based Business by the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce in their 2011 Awards of Excellence, and was nominated for the 2011 RBC Canadian Entrepreneur Awards.

She just launched a sideline as a public speaker on the subject of IN SEARCH OF THE GODDESS, and is planning other presentations on subjects of interest to women.

Goddess Cards is passionate about the welfare of women. It has donated cards and Annual Subscriptions to its ecard website, to a selection of charitable and other organizations that support women's health and women's issues.

Anne loves the letters she receives from women all over the world, who write to comment on her work. Often, they offer suggestions on new cards they wish she would make.

"When a card idea fills a basic Goddess need, I will probably create it," says Anne. "Women and their lives are the inspiration for my work."

To her great surprise, Anne finds herself back where she began so many years ago: creating children's books! Her new partnership with talented musicians, Cary Beare and Allison McCready, composers and performers of the delightful POTTY PARTY song, has inspired her to devote part of her summer to illustrating their song.
